Travels with Darwin is the blog of Cori Boyko. I'm in my third year of graduate school at UC Davis. I just got an MA from the Department of Anthropology and am finishing up an MS from the Graduate Group in Ecology. I do research in as many places all over the world as I can manage, and along the way I've started to collect some interesting stories. This is where they end up.
During the summer of 2009, I traveled to Qatar, Lebanon, Turkey, Croatia, Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Australia, Papua New Guinea, Vietnam and India with my husband Ryan Boyko in order to collect genetic samples from village dogs.
In my less career-oriented life, I'm obsessed with biology, math, webcomics, cooking and how many animal noises my son can make.

Are you crowdsourcing this take to your avid readers?
45 lbs?
Haha, way more--that dog was at least 70lbs.
That is such an oddly adorable picture! That dog seems to have has a really shaggy coat but marked like a German Shepard, I SOOO want one.
